Crawl Space Solutions

BEFORE AFTER
Dirt Crawl Space & Crawl Space Ventilation
Dirt crawl spaces affect you and your entire home. To make your home healthier, cleaner and more energy efficient, your crawl space needs to be encapsulated - separated from the earth and sealed from outside air. Learn how to fix your dirt crawl space, properly deal with crawl space ventilation, and protect your home and family.
Concrete Floors
Concrete crawl spaces should be fixed, as well, to offer better air quality and home energy savings. Not only does a white liner really brighten up a crawl space, but sealing moisture from permeating up through the porous concrete floor, will lower the relative humidity - helping to improve energy efficiency throughout the home and prevent mold growth.
Crawl Space Dehumidifier
A crawl space dehumidifier plays an important part in drying out and creating a healthier crawl space environment. The SaniDry CSB crawl space dehumidifier allows you to set the relative humidity level to match your personal comfort zone.
Mold and Mildew, Odors and Crawl Space Moisture Mold and odors are common to crawl spaces due to the cool environment coupled with vented air flow from the outside. Mold thrives in damp environments where there is plenty of food (your home) for them to eat. Sealing a crawl space with an impervious liner will result in lower levels of crawl space moisture- this is the best solution to lower the relative humidity and thus prevent mold growth.

On Monday January 8th, Tom DiGregorio, the owner of AquaGuard Basement Systems, was called upon by Oakwood Homes, the project builder, to assist in refurbishing the Lake Arrowhead home of Faith Tipton-Smith and family, which was unveiled Thursday, January 18th, 2007. The show aired March 11th, 2007.

The house burned to the ground two years ago, destroying all their belongings (and killing family dog Sugar), the first in a series of tragedies.
Three months later, Missy Tipton, 16, was helping her brother Ransom pick up debris at the site of the home fire. When they drove out of the gated community to pick up a fast-food meal, their car was involved in a head-on crash, killing Ransom and another boy. Soon after, the mother temporarily lost her job as an aircraft inspector at Lockheed Martin Corp. This was one deserving family.
Tipton-Smith had begun building a replacement home, but put the project on hold because of medical bills. This left the new house framed, but open to the weather. Needless to say there was a severe mold, moisture and water problem with the existing structure so AquaGuard Basement Systems was called upon. The three thousand square foot crawl space required a drainage system, a TripleSafe sump pump with battery back-up, a SaniDry air filtration and dehumidification system and their patented CleanSpace encapsulation system.
AquaGuard's part of the project started just after noon time on Saturday, January 13th and lasted until well pass midnight. "Our crew of sixteen plus work diligently to encapsulate this deserving family's home," said Tom as he fought back the emotions of being a part of such a noble effort by such a large number of caring and generous people. Tom also said, "We were honored and proud to be involved with such a worthy project and thankful to Basement Systems for their generous donation of all of the materials and equipment."
