Dry Rot & Brown Rot
This crawlspace had extensive moisture issues. The homeowners expressed an interest in AquaGuard to see if we could help keep their space dry. Although there was no mold at the time in the crawlspace, the homeowner’s were very concerned of the possibility of it beginning to grow.
AquaGuard installed numerous products to completely encapsulate this crawlspace:
CleanSpace - seals in the entire space; prevents water from seeping and spreading into the entire crawlspace; even wraps around columns and piers for maximum efficiency
Sealed vents - crawlspace vents should always remain closed and sealed; outside air does more harm to your crawlspace's air quality than it does to help it
Sanidry Dehumidifier and Condensate Pump - this dehumidifier is extremely powerful and will keep any space moisture free; the pump ensures that all captured water is immediately drained out of the crawlspace- no need to empty any heavy buckets of collected water
LawnScape and Pump Discharge Unit - both of these installations help move the unwanted water out and away from the crawlspace
EverLast Crawl Space Door - AquaGuard will even equip your crawlspace with the proper door to ensure that critters and other bugs do not enter your newly renovated space; however, these doors are extremely people friendly.

Ardel N. had become overwhelmed with the past few rainfalls, as water had been entering the front of her Norcross home through the foundation walls. Growing sick and tired of the water getting into her finished basement, she decided she needed to do something about the problem, so she did an internet search for the term “water in my basement” and came across the professionals of Aquaguard Basement Systems. Speaking to a representative at Aquaguard, Ardel set up an appointment for a free waterproofing estimate at her home after the holiday season.
Basement waterproofing specialist Shane Barnett of Aquaguard Basement Systems visited Ardel’s residence to inspect the water problem in her finished basement. Starting off with a thorough examination of the foundation, Shane quickly identified the cause of water penetration along the seam of the wall and floor joint. Dealing with basements all the time, Shane knew that Ardel’s best opportunity for a dry basement would be the installation of the WaterGuard a patented non-clogging perimeter drainage system that would connect to the SuperSump – a sump pump designed to house a secondary battery backup ensuring you the most security for your home.
Kelly D. had begun despising the trips down to her basement because of the musty and damp odor she was experiencing every time she went downstairs. Kelly wasn’t sure why there was an odor because there were no signs or symptoms of water entering her home. After hearing a local ad for Aquaguard Basement Systems on a ride she took for some errands on a Saturday morning, she decided to call the waterproofing experts for a free basement inspection to get to the bottom of this problem.
Basement specialist Larry Brinsfield of Aquaguard Basement Systems, visited Kelly’s residence within a week of the original phone call and conducted a thorough examination her foundation for causes of the strong basement odor. Larry soon discovered that Kelly’s old stone foundation was very porous and allowing tons of relative humidity into her building. Larry recommended that Kelly’s best opportunity to get rid of the musty smell in her basement was a SaniDry – a powerful and energy efficient basement dehumidifier that uses a discharge line to remove collected moisture out and away from the home. The SaniDry is so effective at removing smelly odors because of its powerful blower that will move dry air around the entire basement space, keeping all the contents in the basement completely dry – relieving the basement of the damp and smelly odor.
With the SaniDry dehumidifier installed and in place, Kelly can now take a breath of fresh air. The self-draining dehumidifier makes Kelly’s life even easier because there is no need to empty a large bucket full of water or any worry about overfilling. Kelly and her family can now live comfortably every year with a healthier home.
