When one of Georgia’s 159 counties is looking for a concrete leveling fix AquaGuard’s Commercial and Government Division has the solution.
Most recently, Paulding County was experiencing a problem with slab settlement at a bridge approach.
This bridge was opened to traffic in February of 2014, and since then, slab settlement has occurred for a variety of reasons. This section of road is extremely busy, with 4 lanes bearing the daily traffic weight of more than 13,000 vehicles. The county has measured, that over a 24-hour period, approximately 5% of this traffic is semi-truck traffic.
In this case, slab settlement has no doubt occurred due to a combination of poor compaction during construction, load limits being regularly exceeded, excessive rain and drought conditions leading to base/sub-base erosion, improperly-constructed or maintained drainage, and vibratory distress from both traffic and the nearby railway system.
Traditional methods of repair, like full panel replacement, asphalt overlay, or mud-jacking were deemed unsatisfactory repairs due to the incredible disruption of traffic and volume of cure time each method would require to complete the job. And then there is always the concern that the problem might not actually be solved.

The Bill Carruth Parkway bridge approach slab is approximately 30 feet in length and 90 feet in width. By drilling dime-size holes in the slab, AquaGuard’s Commercial and Government Division injected structural grade polymers into the soil to fill voids, stabilize and lift the slab above to within 1/8 inch of the desired elevation.
Ultimately, PolyLEVEL lifted the Bill Carruth asphalt approach slab approximately 2-inches. Not only is the Bill Carruth Parkway now permanently stabilized from a future settlement, but the repair was done in a single day.
PolyLevel’s application process is so exact that only one-lane of traffic needed to be closed at a time so that the heavily-traveled road was never rendered inoperable.
All-in-all, the Paulding County PolyLEVEL project leveled more than 3,500 square feet of concrete in less than 18 hours, and at least one lane in each direction remained serviceable at all times, eliminating lag time.
