Why It’s Important to Maintain Your Sump Pump

Our sump pump systems are designed to be low-maintenance for the homeowner so that you never have to worry about constantly checking it or draining the water. To ensure the system is always working properly, it is important for a professional to come check it occasionally to make sure your home will be protected from flooding.

Our specialists are happy to come and check your sump pump for maintenance issues or repairs. We service our existing systems in Georgia, including Atlanta, Marietta, Decatur, and nearby.

Just as you would service any other home appliance, it’s important to have your sump pump checked on an annual basis to make sure it’s always working correctly.

Servicing Your Basement Waterproofing System

Servicing and maintaining your sump pump and waterproofing system on an annual basis is recommended to make sure it’s working properly. Unless you notice any issues with your sump pump, a once-per-year checkup should be sufficient. During your annual maintenance check, our specialist will go through this six-step process:

Testing & Cleaning the Sump Pump

Like any other appliance in your home, sump pumps have a lot of different mechanical parts that may need to be repaired or replaced over time. An important piece of sump pump functionality is the float switch, which your specialist will check for issues.

The specialist will then clean the intake valve, impeller, and sump pump liner to ensure there is no clogging from any debris.

Test & Replace Batteries

The sump pump includes a WaterWatch® alarm system that will sound if there is any water leakage. The battery in this alarm needs to be replaced annually, as well as your backup sump pump.

Maintain Your Dehumidifier

Dehumidifiers contain filters that need to be changed. Our SaniDry™ dehumidifier has a pre-filter that can simply be cleaned, and also has a main air filter that will need to be changed. The specialist will also check the mechanical parts of the SaniDry™ for repair.

Check Discharge Line

Sump pumps include a discharge line that is responsible for channeling water away from your home. Our specialist will ensure water is easily moving through the discharge line.

Check the Crawl Space Liner

Our specialist will check your CleanSpace® liner for any necessary repairs or cleaning.

Look for Issues & Recommend Upgrades

It’s important to catch problems before they get worse, so our specialist will check for any early signs of problems and recommend any solutions or upgrades to help protect your home from water damage.

A Lifetime Pump Warranty

Even the highest quality sump pumps have parts wear out and need to be repaired or replaced. To give you complete peace of mind, we offer a lifetime sump pump warranty. Consistently maintaining your pump with one of our specialists will help avoid problems, but you’re always protected by a lifetime warranty.

flood warning

Your main sump pump will not function properly during a power outage, so it’s important to have a battery backup pump that will trigger in the event of a power outage. During your annual service visit, our specialist will be happy to walk you through your options for battery backups.
