Crawl Space Repair & Encapsulation in Atlanta
Homes rely on their crawl space for a couple of reasons – for support and to protect necessary utilities like plumbing, electrical wiring, and insulation. However, Atlanta’s muggy climate and rainy summers pose a major threat to your crawl space. Atlanta’s sandy soil doesn’t help either, as it is susceptible to erosion during heavy storms. When humid air or draining precipitation travel into your crawl space, moisture levels rise and lead to structural damage. AquaGuard uses vapor barriers, sump pumps, interior drains, dehumidifiers, and crawl space doors to keep all forms of moisture out for good.

Foundation Repair in Atlanta
Your home is only as good as its foundation because it supports nearly everything. Walls, floors, and ceilings wouldn’t hold their structure without the foundation. That’s why protecting your foundation with AquaGuard’s help is so important. Atlanta’s sandy soils are easily washed away by heavy storms during the summer, which leads to settlement and sinking. Moreover, tree roots in your yard can easily push through the sandy soil and put pressure on foundation walls, leading to damage. Prevent these issues and permanently bolster your foundation with foundation repair from AquaGuard. Solutions include pier systems, wall anchors, IntelliBrace™ wall repair, and crawl space supports.

Basement Waterproofing in Atlanta
Sandy soils in Atlanta don’t always lend themselves well to a basement foundation. Water drains quickly through sandy soils and will collect around the exterior basement walls. Over time, this creates hydrostatic pressure, when water pushes against the walls and causes cracks and bowing. As a result, water floods into your basement, leads to mold growth, and damages anything located in the space. AquaGuard prevents this situation from arising with our basement waterproofing solutions like dehumidifiers, vapor barriers, BasementGutter™, and sump pumps. All these solutions keep water out and quickly move it away from your home.

Concrete Lifting & Leveling in Atlanta
Concrete’s greatest threat is weak soil. Atlanta’s muggy and rainy environment often damages soil beneath concrete structures and leads to uneven sidewalks or cracked driveways. However, AquaGuard has a solution that lifts concrete back into place. PolyRenewal™, a polyurethane injection system, is waterproof and quickly fills voids in soil. This innovative solution is injected below damaged concrete, where it hardens in just 15 minutes and can support the weight of your car. We use PolyRenewal™ to fix pool decks, sidewalks, driveways, and more around your property.
Proudly Serving A Metro Near You
We have to water proof our crawl space, which was in bad shape. This month, Kurt and JD were assigned to dig 2 perimeters, add drain system, encapsulate the area, add two pumps, a dehumidifier, etc. They were very professional and courteous. Called everyday to let me known their estimated arrival time. Even though the requirement was, to meet with me at the beginning of the project and at the end, they went the extra mile and let me know the work plan and the completed work, every day. This gave me the opportunity to ask questions, to which Kurt had knowledgeable/reassuring answers. They were scheduled to take up-to-5 days to completed the job, and they did completed it in 3.5 days. We could feel the difference in the quality of the air/cooler temperature/cleanliness of the area, right away after completion.

FAQs
About Waterproofing, Foundation Repair & Crawl Spaces in Atlanta
Mold and mildew are serious health risks and they should be treated as such. They can affect your health and especially respiratory organs if you’re subjected to them for a long time. This is especially a concern for those with asthma or other respiratory problems. It’s best to make sure that your home is mold-free even if you’re otherwise healthy.
This is done by removing the conditions that make it possible for mold to appear in the first place. That’s usually dampness and darkness since that’s where mold usually grows. Basements are therefore an especially attractive part of your property for these fungi.
Make sure that the basement is properly waterproofed and that excess moisture is removed from it and you won’t have issues with mold ever again.
The first thing to do when you notice cracks and sinking concrete slabs in your driveway is to do what you can to not make matters worse. That means that you shouldn’t put extra pressure on the driveway by parking on it or by waking over it more than you have to. That should give you plenty of time to repair the problem before the slab sinks further.
It’s also important to figure out what’s causing the cracks. If it’s an issue with the concrete itself, there’s little you can do but to replace it altogether. If the sinking and cracking are caused by a structural problem, you should contact experts to lift it and repair the soil beneath it.
There are a few ways to do so, but using PolyRenewal injections is proven to be the most effective in the long run and the least disruptive to your home.
PolyRenewal foam injections are an innovative method for lifting concrete slabs that are starting to sink. It can be used on driveways, patios, or around a pool since all of these areas often have problems with sinking due to how they are affected by water. There are other methods out there but this one is the most convenient for most homeowners.
PolyRenewal injections aren’t that invasive and they only require small holes to be drilled in order to inject the foam and lift the concrete slab. The devices used to do that are small and portable and that means that you can use them in closed and tight spaces within your yard.
Most importantly, PolyRenewal is a long-term solution that will keep the concrete even without you having to do any further repairs in the future and that’s both convenient and less expensive in the long run. That’s because it fixes the underlying cause of the issue rather than just raising the concrete.
Push piers are used to stabilize your home once it starts shifting or sinking. This often happens, unevenly causing the home to sink to one side and piers are driven below the home to level and prevent it from sinking and getting damaged further.
It’s often wrongly believed that it’s the piers that keep the home up. In fact, the piers are used to transfer the weight of the home to the sturdy ground below and it’s that soil that actually supports your home after the piers are installed. Push piers are driven into the soil and the weight of the home itself presents a counterbalance holding the structure up.
It’s an extremely dangerous and delicate procedure that should be left to those who have experience in the field and know how to choose the right piers for your home as well as install them safely.
Waterproofing a basement may prove to be a long-term solution to many health and safety issues a homeowner can face. It will make the basement dry and thus prevent mold from growing. It also shields you from rot and other damage caused by the humidity.
The best way to waterproof a basement is to install a vapor barrier that will shield it from humidity. The barrier is applied to the wall directly and is relatively easy to install. It’s also a long-term solution that will last for decades.
Sometimes, it may also be useful to install a drain that will collect the humidity that gets into the home and directs it to the sump pump system. That way, the water is removed from the home and moved where it can’t cause damage.
A lot of the time, homeowners delay repairs and don’t address the problems their home is facing as fast as they should. Sometimes, that’s because they feel the repairs are too expensive and sometimes the problems seem to be minor at first. It’s a mistake to wait too long to repair your home.
Structural problems tend to get worse over time and they often get worse quickly. Waiting to fix them often means that you’ll have to go through much more expensive and more invasive repairs. By addressing the issue as soon as it appears, you’ll end up saving a lot of money in the long run.
It’s also a mistake to try to fix the structural problems on your own. They are too complex and require too much machinery and materials that a homeowner can’t get to. Such repairs are best left to the experts.
